Smart Contracts

Smart contracts are programs which govern the behavior of accounts within the Ethereum state. They are written in the Solidity language, and are saved on the Ethereum blockchain. One of their uses is to act as the back-end to DApps.

“Smart contracts” are programs running on the blockchain that can execute automatically when certain conditions are met. These smart contracts enable developers to build far more sophisticated functionality than simply sending and receiving cryptocurrency.
